Abstract Inspired by recently published researches, we present two protocols for setting an upper limit to the claimed variation of $$\hbar $$ ħ upon position. The protocols, both within today state art, involve use delayed laser pulses driving atom. distinct positions laboratory, due Earth motion, affects and hence atomic dynamics. first protocol measures difference in population ground while second one red-shift harmonics emitted atom moments experiment. improve reported $$\varDelta \hbar /\hbar xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML">Δħ/ħ . theory shows that (\varvec{r})$$ xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML">ħ(r) induces a chaotic evolution This form Chaos is generated physical parameter example Parametric Chaos.
